2027 ID. Buzz Returns After Hiatus with New Camper Trim


When it debuted back in 2025, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz created a lot of excitement for both retro car lovers and writers; they couldn’t stop writing or talking about it. However, what began as a hype slowly began to fade away, and reality setting in, the 2025 ID. BUZZ sales weren’t doing well in its first year of production; that’s when Volkswagen decided to pause its production to work on a solution that led it to skip the 2026 model year.

For many, the pause kept them worried about the ID. Buzz wouldn’t make it another year, especially in the US, but that was so wrong. Behind the curtains, the automaker was working on something new; also, it gave time for dealers to clear their remaining stock. During those times Volkswagen had promised something, a retro-style minivan would be back in near years; now the company stayed true to its promise.

Now they are back with the new 2027 Volkswagen ID. Buzz is specially treated with a variety of updates. Each version gets the brand’s newest infotainment system software known as ID.S.6, and it features New navigation interference on the system Home screen: This one is said to be more responsive than before. Also, it comes with an Android-based system, making it easier to adjust various interior settings by the touch of the screen. There is also a new app store installed, which lets you install third-party apps such as YouTube and Spotify.

Now for the 2027 ID.BUZZ, it includes a NACS to CCS adapter, allowing owners to use Tesla’s vast Supercharger network across the US. There is also a new trim for the United States market; previously, you could only get yourself either a rear-wheel-drive Pro S or an all-wheel-drive Pro S Plus 4Motion. Now they have added entry-level Pro S 4Motion and a Tourer 4Motion.

In the previous ID.BUZZ, the “Good Night Package” was offered for European markets as an option. Now for North America, you can get the same exact setup, but it is on the ID.Buzz Tourer 4Motion. The setup includes a fold-out mattress and platform that levels out over the seats, full magnetic privacy window shades, a snap-in window ventilation panel that lets bugs out, and outdoor folding tables and chairs, and you get Overnight Mode software that lets owners run climate control and USB ports safely while sleeping.

Volkswagen hasn’t disclosed the cost of acquiring the 2027 ID.BUZZ. Looking at the 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz pricing started at around $61,545 for the base model, going up to $72,540 for the highest trim. Volkswagen may be looking for ways to keep the pricing as low as possible, and it looks like they are working on the simplification of the production process. Now they will only offer two-tone paint options, including a new candy white over cherry red and the wheels painted in white to reflect its past.
